Explore our story
The founder
IntelliStage’s story began in 1981, when engineer Mike Gerutto immigrated to the United States from Poland and founded Cipex International.
Drawing on an engineering background that included work for renowned loudspeaker manufacturer Cerwin-Vega, Mike built a company focused on professional equipment for the audio and live-event industries.
Cipex introduced Road Ready® protective cases in 1998. Two years later, the original IntelliStage® modular staging system was introduced—and that first portable stage became the foundation for everything that followed.
“Portable staging is not one department of our business. It is our specialty.”
Built from one system
IntelliStage began with a single idea: create a portable staging system that was genuinely professional-grade—strong, reliable, easy to configure and built to perform in real-world use, not just on paper.
That original IntelliStage® system became the foundation of everything that followed.
As our customers’ needs expanded, so did our engineering. Over time, IntelliStage evolved from one staging system into a complete portfolio of modular staging solutions, each designed to serve a specific environment, application and performance requirement.
Today, IntelliStage designs and manufactures a full range of professional staging systems engineered to support virtually every market and use case—from schools and universities to churches, event production companies, rental houses, corporate facilities and government venues.
IntelliStage products have now been sold in more than 70 countries worldwide through our network of authorized dealers and international distributors.
A dedicated staging manufacturer
Lightweight handling, rapid deployment, heavy-duty production, uneven terrain, mobile operation, accessible entrances and long-term institutional use each call for different engineering—not a one-size-fits-all product.
Different environments demand different solutions. That reality drives how we design.
Rather than forcing a single stage to fit every application, IntelliStage develops distinct staging systems, each engineered with purpose—whether the priority is lightweight portability, rapid setup, terrain adaptability or long-term institutional use.
Every IntelliStage system is built around the same core principles:
This systems-based approach allows customers to select the right staging solution for their specific needs—without compromise.
Product development

Bringing production closer to the company’s product-development, inventory and quality-control teams provides greater oversight and supports continued innovation, technical assistance and long-term service.
In stock and ready to ship
In addition to our expanded U.S. manufacturing capabilities, IntelliStage maintains a full inventory of complete stage systems, platforms, risers, legs and accessories at our Sparks, Nevada facility.
Stocked stage systems and standard products can ship within 24 hours of a confirmed dealer order. Because inventory is maintained in Nevada, these orders ship from the United States rather than from an overseas factory and do not require a four- to eight-week manufacturing lead time.
This inventory allows our authorized dealers to respond quickly to schools, churches, event producers, government facilities and other organizations working with firm installation dates or immediate staging requirements.
IntelliStage is the manufacturer and does not sell directly to end users. IntelliStage products are available through authorized dealers in the United States and through regional distributors in international markets.
